Campaigners produce objection ‘tick-list’ after fearing issue is creating confusion
Campaigners hoping to block Wales’s first super dairy to be built in Leighton have stepped up their efforts to recruit objectors.
The Campaign Against Leighton Farm expansion (CALFe) has put together a form for villagers and school parents to fill in and sign, believing that the complexity of the issue may be stopping some people making their concerns known.
“The plans are very complicated and we felt that many people would not have the opportunity to read or understand them so we have put the main objections into a letter that people can use to object to the council,” said campaign spokesperson, Holly Dyer.
The form lists the campaign’s main concerns, allowing people to tick those that they feel concern them most. It also explains where and whom the form should be sent to.
Local farmer Fraser Jones has re-submitted his plans for a 1,000-strong dairy farm after taking into consideration local objections to his initial proposal. The public consultation period will continue until April 14.
