Trains cancelled due to crew shortage

Two trains to Shrewsbury have been cancelled this afternoon due to crew shortages.

The 12.54pm train and the 2.55pm trains have fallen victim, but at the moment the 4.55pm train is still running.

To make matters worse for Welshpool passengers, the ticket machine at the station is still out of order.

It’s been a disastrous start for Transport for Wales who took over the local franchise from Arriva Trains two months ago with constant delays and cancellations.

However, the company has said they should be judged after 12 months due to taking on an ailing fleet which has needed upgrading.
