Large crowds expected for Boxing Day meet

Welshpool town centre will be hosting its annual Tanatside Hunt meeting tomorrow with dry weather forecasted for the huge crowds expected.

Boxing Day is traditionally the biggest day in the hunting calendar and large crowds show their support in Welshpool.

Last year, a group of local protesters were present for the first time and, despite a large anti-hunt protest planned in Newport tomorrow, another protest is expected by the Town Hall.

The spectacle normally departs the Royal Oak at about 11am, but the advice is to arrive early.
