Big wins for Guils, Llan
It was a superb day for our local clubs looking to enter the New Year in the top half of the Huws Gray Alliance.
Guilsfield visited a Bangor City side that has put together an incredible run to move third, but the villagers showed their quality with two goals in five second half minutes from Sam Litchfield and Steve Blenkinsop to take a 2-0 win.
It was a similar result for Llanrhaeadr who got the better of Buckley Town thanks to a first half penalty from Khyam Wyton and a second half strike from Iwan Matthews.
Welshpool Town and Llanfair United shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw, but they slipped off the MMP Mid Wales League pace after Caersws, Llanidloes and Berriew all won on the road.
In the second division, Montgomery marched on with a 3-0 win at Newbridge, but Waterloo Rovers’ winning run came to an end after being held 2-2 at home by Machynlleth.
