Dramatic Christmas lunch for emergency services

Our emergency services proved once again that they are never off duty following a dramatic medical response during Christmas dinner.

Knives and forks were dropped as firefighters joined colleagues from the Ambulance Service to be first responders to a 1.20pm dinner table emergency on Christmas Day.

A seriously ill male was provided emergency medical treatment, with the team saving one family’s Christmas on Bron-Y-Buckley thanks to their swift response.

“At 1:20pm on Christmas day, firefighters from Welshpool supported the Ambulance Service at a medical incident in Welshpool,” said a spokesperson for the Fire Service.

“Firefighters were involved in gaining access to the property and assisting the Air Ambulance crew in caring for a male casualty. The Fire Service left the incident with the Air Ambulance at 1:56pm.”
