Red Bank to be closed until Tuesday

An emergency road closure has been granted by Powys County Council to allow for Red Bank to be shut off until Tuesday.

The request has been made by Severn Trent so that they can fix a leaking pipe which has been trickling water down the road for some time.

With freezing weather expected for several days, the work has become even more urgent to prevent the road from becoming an ice rink.

Diversions are in place but it has resulted in chaos this afternoon on Dingle Road, off Brookfield Road, which has struggled to cope with the extra volume.

The work is expected to be finished by Tuesday but, in the meantime, emergency vehicle access will be maintained along with access to properties.
