Railway station set for improvements

Welshpool Railway Station is being earmarked for improvements, and users can make their opinions known now so that their needs are hopefully met.

The plans are being put together by the Welsh Government who are working with the Shrewsbury Aberystwyth Rail Liaison Committee and Welshpool Town Council.

Among the issues being considered are extended car parking, better access, bus interchange facility for a Cardiff direct bus as well as better information at the station and more sheltered seating.

Users have until January 31 to complete the survey which is available by clicking here.

“The survey is being carried out to inform the working group and to enable a final report for taking the project forward to be completed,” said a Town Council spokesperson.
