Back in business

After a turbulent December that saw it facing probable closure, Guilsfield Community Centre is back on its feet and taking booking for 2019.

A wrangle over past decisions resulted in a reluctance from the community to join the committee to run the village centre, placing its future in doubt.

But following a well-supported emergency meeting, a temporary committee was appointed and more members have since been co-opted to breathe fresh life into the village hub.

“It’s coming together for the short term and setting steps to have an orderly change in Lease and Trust arrangements in co-ordination with the Community Council,” said a spokesperson.

“The best news is that Mrs Chris Roach has agreed to coordinate all the bookings as a volunteer. At this stage, the best place to contact the Centre is through guilsfieldcommunitycentre@gmail.com.”
