Pedestrian badly injured

A pedestrian was badly injured in a collision with a vehicle in the centre of Welshpool this morning.

The woman was transported to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent following a collision with a pick-up truck near the tourist information centre.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene.

A Wales Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call to a road traffic collision. We responded with an emergency ambulance, an air ambulance emergency car and an air ambulance. One patient has been transported to University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent."
