Car Club support for 1940s Weekend

The Mid Wales Classic Car Club is accelerating its support for the town’s 1940s weekend by not only pledging cars from the era but also providing a cash donation towards running costs.

The weekend has become a big favourite on the town’s social calendar over the past five years and will take place from September 27-29.

The club has supported the event through members with vehicles from the 40s era exhibiting over the weekend, and we can expect another grand showing later this year.

The event’s chairman, Alan Crowe, said: “When I began organising the event five years ago it was always my intention that it should be a community event involving and benefiting as much of the area as possible.”

Meanwhile, fundraising will continue on Friday with a fashion show at M&Co, commencing at 7pm. Admission is £7 to include wine & nibbles. Tickets are available from Welshpool Jewellers, Flaunt It and Stepchange or you can pay on the door.
