Back road to reopen Thursday night
The ‘back road’, which is officially called Brook Street, will reopen to traffic on Thursday night at 6pm, but Jehu Road will close at the same time for up to two weeks.
The latest update has been provided by the Town Council who are in daily contact with the contractors, and it is hoped that the closures will allow acceleration of the works to be completed prior to the school holidays.
Planners also hope that a sign asking motorists on Church Bank going towards the Westwood to indicate if they are going right will ease the problem identified this past fortnight since the road was narrowed to single lane.
· Brook Street (from Raven Street to Jehu Road) re-opens on Thursday at 6pm
· Jehu Road will be closed to all traffic from 6pm Thursday for approximately 2 weeks
· Church Bank white lines will be in place (weather permitting) this week
· Signage at Church Bank/Salop Road/Mill Lane Junction to be put in place, including a sign asking cars to indicate.
