Public meeting over Guilsfield housing plan

03/08/2019 @ 08:47

Plans to build 22 houses on land on the edge of Guilsfield will be discussed at a public meeting on Monday night.

Although in the initial phase, the proposal has generated plenty of discussion and the Community Council is keen to hear what residents think.

“The project is at a very early stage, with the developers submitting their outline proposal to the Community Council for consultation,” said the council’s Ian Harrison.

“We would like to know your thoughts on this development and so I am calling a Public Meeting for 7pm on Monday, August 5, in the Community Centre Hall.”

It would be the biggest development in the village since a similar number of houses were built to extend Oldcastle Avenue almost 25 years ago.

While the need for more housing has been welcomed by many, some residents are concerned that too many houses are being included for such a tight space.
