Is it really an emergency?

19/08/2019 @ 08:30

As our hard working emergency services head into what is traditionally one of their busiest periods of the year, Dyfed-Powys Police is asking residents to only call 999 if it is actually an emergency.

It comes after the force revealed that a 999 call was made at some point by someone asking for help to turn their heating down.

The past fortnight has seen our services stretched with a number of major road accidents added to other incidents, and with the Bank Holiday weekend fast approaching, the police force has asked for common sense to prevail.

“We’re heading in to an extra busy period and asking for your help to manage our demand,” said a spokesperson. “In an emergency, always call 999. When it's less urgent, contact us by http://bit.ly/DPPReportOnline, contactcentre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk or calling 101.”
