Affordable homes plan for Guilsfield

02/09/2019 @ 11:40

Hot on the heels of a plan to build 22 houses in Guilsfield, another application is set to be tabled that will create 28 affordable homes at the other side of the village.

Guilsfield Community Council has agreed with several conditions submitted to support a development on the entrance of the village from the ‘Hardings’ route in, and now they will be asked to consider another proposal at the Arddleen side of the village.

It has been made by Margaret Bardsley who is trying to gather local support to submit her plan for 11 two-bed, 15 three-bed and two four-bed properties alongside the main road heading into the village.

There is currently a 28-day pre-consultation period for an Outline Planning Application, after which an application will be submitted for Outline Planning Permission taking into account feedback from the consultation.

“There will be an open public meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, September 17, at the Community Centre in Guilsfield CP School,” Margaret announced. “I will be there along with my Planning Consultant Mike Lloyd of Berry's and Geraint Roberts representing Mid Wales Housing who are my partners in delivering this scheme.

“The Community Council is meeting two days later and my application is on their agenda. It’s time now to demonstrate that there is a real need for affordable homes in Guilsfield for our young people and their families.”
