Changes announced to tonight's road closure plans

Changes to planned overnight road closures in Welshpool have been announced by Powys County Council and contractors Griffiths & Co as work on Welshpool’s traffic management safety scheme nears an end.

Broad Street will now close tonight (Thursday) between 6-9pm and not 8pm to 6am as announced earlier this week. Church Street will close from 8pm until 6am.

Broad Street will be closed to through traffic to allow completion of the Zebra Crossing near Welshpool Town Hall.

Church Bank and Red Bank Junction will be closed to allow removal of the splitter island at Mill Lane Junction alongside Westwood Park Hotel to improve access for HGV traffic.

Diversion routes will be in place with access to Red Bank via Guilsfield Road and Borfa Green Bank.
