Promise auction for 1940s weekend

Forget Bargain Hunt, the real deal is at the Royal Oak Hotel on September 12 (7.30pm) for a Promise Auction.

Among the bargains to be had are 10 bags of horse manure delivered to your door, Afternoon Tea for four people, Magnums of champagne, Beauty & Therapy vouchers, Pierre Cardin Ladies watch, tickets to local and national attractions, plus much more. There are approximately 50 lots.

Admission is free with no obligation to buy. Viewing from 6.30pm.

Proceeds will go towards the town's annual 1940s weekend and, in particular, to providing tickets for residents of local residential homes and those living with dementia to go along and enjoy the concerts.

A fun quiz night will also take place in the Church House on September 13 at 7.30pm.
