An area of Welshpool is aiming to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme to clamp down on crime and anti-social behaviour.
A meeting will be held on September 30 with a view to creating the group that will cover upper High Street, Mount Street and Bowling Green Lane in the town with organisers urging fellow residents: “Do you want to make these places a safer place to live?”
It is expected that a representative from Dyfed-Powys Police will also be present.
Organisers are saying: “Do you want to raise issues about anti-social behaviour, community safety or crime? Are you worried about a vulnerable neighbour? Do you want to find out what other residents are concerned about?”
Neighbourhood Watch is the biggest voluntary organisation in the UK and the Welshpool meeting will take place on September 30 in the Methodist Hall at 7.30. All are welcome.
