Landslide road partially opened

The A490 road to Llanfyllin, which was smashed by 3,000 tonnes of soil, rocks and trees near Valley View Holiday Park, Pentre’r Bierdd, two weeks ago has reopened.

Two-way traffic lights will remain in place whilst work to stabilise the upper level of the landslide is undertaken by the landowner.

Powys County Council engineers will continue to monitor the site for further movement whilst the work is undertaken.

"Once the landowner has completed their work and it is confirmed the slope is stable the traffic lights will be taken down," we were told.
