Going purple for Polio

Welshpool Town Hall will be lit up in purple to mark World Polio Day on October 24, the town’s Rotaty Club has announced.

Thanks largely to the work of Rotary International's vaccination campaign over many years, Polio is now almost eradicated. Only 85 cases have been reported so far this year.

Purple is the colour of the campaign, and Welshpool Rotary Club thanks the Town Council for their help and co-operation in raising awareness.
