It’s chaos on road and rail in the Welshpool area this morning after 24 hours of heavy rain.
Travellers are being warned to stay at home unless journeys are really essential as rivers, streams and drains fail to come with a deluge of water.
The Forden to Welshpool road near the Mid Wales Airport is completely blocked and many other roads are only passable with care.
The railway network is creaking under the strain too. Flooding has closed the track between Welshpool and Shrewsbury with coaches replacing trains and there’s a limited two hour service between Welshpool and Aberystwyth.
