The man accused of carrying out a day-time assault which resulted in a man being stabbed has had his case adjourned.

The Shropshire Star is reporting that James William Spaull, 28, of Maes Beuno, Berriew, was charged with grievous bodily harm after a man was stabbed in the town on September 18. That charge has been changed to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

At the time, police reported that one man was stabbed by the fire station from behind after getting off a bus in the town centre. He suffered puncture wounds to his neck and abdomen but did not require hospital treatment. A second man was not injured.

Spaull appeared at Mold Crown Court via a television link from Swansea prison. The charge was not put to him and the case was adjourned for a psychiatric report to be prepared. A provisional trial date was fixed for February 3 next year.
