Three arrests after Leighton Arches dawn raid

Three men are in custody after a huge operation at Leighton Arches in Welshpool at dawn this morning.

Dyfed Powys Police has confirmed that around 75 officers took part in the early morning raid at the former Withy Beds site at around 7am this morning.

A statement read: “Dyfed-Powys Police is at Leighton Arches Site, Welshpool, conducting a planned warrant. Around 75 police officers are at the scene, and a police cordon is in place. There is no risk to the public.

“More information will be released when it is appropriate.”

Police have not made any confirmation but the raid is believed to be drug related.

Welshpool residents were woken by the Dyfed Powys Police helicopter circling the town as dawn broke this morning sparking many to take to social media to find out what was going on.
