Montgomeryshire, Brecon and Radnorshire turned blue overnight with wins for Craig Williams and Fay Jones for the Conservatives.
Craig Williams (pictured) held onto the Montgomeryshire seat vacated by the retiring Glyn Davies while Fay Jones ousted Lib/Dem MP Jane Dodds, who only won the Brecon & Radnor seat in an August by-election.
Glyn Davies held onto Montgomeryshire in the 2017 election by 9,285 from Jane Dodds and this morning’s count at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells saw Craig Williams see off the Lib/Dem challenge from Kishan Devani by a12,000 majority.
The result left Plaid Cymru leaders red faced after they withdrew local favourite Elwyn Vaughan from the contest and encouraged their members to vote Lib/Dem.
Trewern and Middletown County Councillor Amanda Jenner fought a brilliant battle in Ceredigion for the Conservatives finishing second behind Plaid's Ben Lake while Simon Baynes from Llanfyllin won the Clywd South seat with 16,222 votes from Labour's Susan Elen Jones with 14,963 votes
