We’re all right behind you Reece!

Montgomeryshire will be glued to the television tonight when local youngster Reece Wiltshire-Fessey bids to join Britain’s next big boy band in X Factor: The Band.

The 19-year-old singer song-writer, who lives in Llansantffraid and formerly lived in Guilsfield, is a red hot favourite after a sensational audition on Monday in music mogul Simon Cowell’s office.

He is due to perform from 8.30pm tonight on ITV with a handful of other hopefuls who will be narrowed down to a boy band for Sunday’s showdown against a girl band who were formed on Wednesday night.

Last night his mum, Gayle, was brimming with pride and told us: “We are so proud of Reece,” she said.

“He has worked his socks off to earn this chance and we are all right behind him. We’d also like to say thank-you for all of the tremendous support that we have received. It really does mean a lot to me, Sabrina (sister) and Alan (brother) and we will be there to support him.”

The Reece-factor is already having a local impact with children at his former school in Guilsfield being encouraged to “dream big like Reece” at their Christmas performance this week.
