What a night it was tonight for local lad Reece Wiltshire-Fessey who, despite missing out on winning The X Factor: The Band, showed that he has what it takes to conquer the music world.
The 19-year-old from Llansantffraid, and formerly Guilsfield, put in another flawless performance in front of 7,000 screaming fans at the Birmingham Arena and millions more watching ITV’s X Factor: The Band live final.
Cheered on by mum, Gayle, sister Sabrina and brother, Alan, as well as loads more who made the journey from Montgomeryshire, Reece (pictured on far right with his band) and his new band, Unwritten Rule, went head-to-head with girl band, Real Like You, which had also been created through auditions earlier this week.
The girls won, but Reece was singled out by the judges as “the front man” and the reaction he received from the crowd during his performances proved his popularity.
He was the undoubted star of the band on a night where he oozed confidence on the big stage to show that he is ready for the fame that could await.
“One Direction didn’t win the X Factor so don’t go to sleep on us yet!” said a defiant Reece after the result was revealed.
One thing is for sure, his new army of local fans will be watching the teenager’s next steps very closely indeed.
Real Like You will now have a big record deal with Simon Cowell's label, but many are hoping the music mogul will extend his support to the popular runners-up.
