Montgomeryshire will invade Cardiff on May 24.
That is the date when local campaigners fighting multi-billion pound Energy plans will take their argument to the front door of Welsh politics.
A meeting will be held tonight (Thursday) in Llanfair to reveal the full plans for the demonstration but we can confirm that May 24 has been agreed by Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies who is set to lead the march despite recuperating from a serious back operation.
It is believed that buses will be organised from communities across the county to ferry campaigners to Cardiff for the demonstration which will be held on the steps of the Senedd, the headquarters for the Welsh Assembly Government (right).
One campaigner, Nick Larder, has vowed to walk from his home to Cardiff to drum up publicity and is expected to set off on May 19.
The Power proposals submitted by Scottish Power and National Grid include a 20-acre substation and over 100 mile of power cables and pylons to carry electricity generated by up to 800 new wind turbines earmarked for previously untouched countryside.
It has enraged the local population which has galvanised to fight the proposals by calling for a full review of the much maligned Tan 8 agreement created by WAG which has given the green light to the hated plans.
Tonight’s meeting takes place at Dolgead Hall, Llanfair Caereinion, starting at 7.30pm.
Meanwhile, Vyrnwy Valley YFC is holding a barn dance on Friday night at Dyffryn Farm, Meifod when 50 per cent of the proceeds will go towards the fight against pylons.
