This is no joke, kids!

It may seem unbelievable given the current life or death situation that we all face, but Welshpool Police have received reports of kids gathering down at Maesydre.

In their final warning this afternoon, the police politely published: “We have received a report of groups of children congregating at times down Maesydre playing fields. Please ensure your children #StayHomeSaveLives.”

This comes despite new measures that give police powers to fine those who are gathering or are out for no reason, and the message has been reinforced that children are the responsibility of their parents/carers should they also be found outside their own houses for no reason.

The Government is encouraging people to get out once a day for exercise but with strict guidelines to walk, cycle or run with people from your own household and maintain a distance of two metres from anyone else. Public gatherings and visits to houses are also banned under the current Government clampdown.
