Five arrests after Llanfair robbery

Five people have been arrested and two vehicles seized following a break-in at the Spar in Llanfair Caereinion last night.

Facebook lit up with residents reporting a suspicious van driving around the town with one reporting that it turned its lights off on the road as it drove past.

The police were alerted and within an hour the Spar was targeted and the arrests were made following a pursuit.

All five were remanded in custody last night and also slapped with fixed penalties under the Covid-19 non-essential journeys! It is believed they will be interviewed by CID today.

Officers were said to be on the scene gathering evidence at the Spar this morning, but it is hoped that it will be open to customers.
