Blood Service praises ‘amazing’ Welshpool

Thirty-one MyWelshpool readers booked through a special link we shared to give life-saving blood last week in the town.

Welsh Blood Service said the “amazing” response from our readers converts into 93 lives saved as a direct result, with many more believed to have also indirectly booked for the four-day session.

“This really is an amazing response, thank-you so much,” said Debbie Day, Donor Engagement Coordinator.

“The four sessions we held at COWSHACC did very well, with combined totals of 216 donors attending, 197 donations collected and a fantastic 54 new donors attending.

“These numbers would be a great result during more ‘normal’ times, but to achieve this in the middle of the circumstances we are in at the moment is really amazing and is all down to being able to reach the community with the information in the right way.”
