Road system delays Tesco opening

Mywelshpool can reveal that Tesco will NOT be open before Christmas.

Work was due to start on the much publicised one-way road system two weeks ago but an insider on the development has revealed that confusion over who is responsible for the job has dropped a spanner in the works.

Tesco, which expected to be open for Christmas, has not confirmed the delay officially but Welshpool Town Council has been told to now expect a mid-February opening.

Welshpool Town Planners and Tesco are desperate to avoid the road fiasco that blighted the Newtown opening earlier this year and have pledged to have the new road system in place long before the store starts trading.
