Montgomery Castle closed

Storm Francis ripped through the area on Tuesday and left a trail of fallen trees and damage in its wake.

This morning, Montgomery Castle was one location that looks to have been impacted, with an announcement that it will be closed until further notice.

The Montgomery Wales Facebook page said: “CADW have closed Montgomery Castle until further notice because of a fallen tree and safety concerns following the storms. This includes the castle and its car park, grounds and paths.”

Powis Castle reopened today following its closure on Tuesday.

Storm Francis powered through the area with winds of 75mph recorded at Lake Vyrnwy.
