Toilets in Welshpool’s Berriew Street Car Park are to close as part of a cost cutting exercise by the Town Council.
This news follows hot on the heels of the Town Council decision to close the Ann Holloway Day Centre.
The council is also planning to vacate its own rented offices in Triangle Square and move into the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street Car Park in a further bid to trim costs.
Wrights Taxis, who operate in part of the TIC Centre, are to be given notice and offered new office space in the Berriew Street toilet block after it closes.
The council is also to look at opening times for the Church Street Car Park toilets at the rear of the TIC and contracting out to Healthmatic who will install cash and card automatic gates.
The recommendations from the council‘s Service Committee were approved at the last full Council Meeting in September.
