Town Council trying again to hold AGM

Welshpool Town Council will restart its annual meeting tomorrow night (Wednesday) after the meeting had to be abandoned due to technical issues last week.

With the election of Mayor for the rest of the municipal year on the agenda several councillors, including current Mayor, Councillor Steve Kaye, were unable to log in to the Zoom meeting last Wednesday night.

Other items due to be discussed include the establishment of committees, elections to outside bodies, resignations of two councillors, finance and the award of £19,529 from Welsh Government for the loss of income during the Covid-19 Pandemic,

Paul Coakley was is due to address the council on a community 3G pitch proposal and members were due to discuss improvements to the Town Council website, CCTV, Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway grant applications and a Transforming Towns Grant.

Other items were listed to be debated in private session including the appointment of a Town Clerk and a letter of complaint.
