It may have fallen victim to the Covid-19 pandemic this year, but the team behind the town’s 1940s weekend are determined to make it happen in 2021.

Fundraising has continued to keep the popular 1940s weekend afloat with an an online raffle currently running with a special prize.

The handmade faux fur bear, with English glass eyes and wooden joints with nuts and bolts is not a toy, and it is up fr grabs along with 8.9cm and 6cm peg dolls, hand painted by The Peg Basket in clay based paints and sealed to give a robust finish (not suitable for children under 36 months due to choke hazard). There are also 3mm plywood templates made by Crafty Farmwife.

There is only a limited number of tickets available for £1 from https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/welshpool1940schristmasprizedraw and you can buy as many or as few tickets as you want.

The draw will take place at 3pm on Sunday.

The 1940s weekend will take place over the last weekend of September 2021.
