Llanfyllin Town Council have said this it is “with a heavy heart” they will have to cancel their annual Carols around the tree on Christmas Eve.
The council made the decision earlier in the year, but made it public now due to rumours that it was going ahead.
“We have known for some time that we would not be able to have this event, however we have heard some rumours that we were going ahead with it so we just wanted to clarify that the Christmas Eve Carol singing is cancelled this year,” the council announced, stating that they hope it will return next year.
The town’s Christmas Saturday Markets are still going ahead on Saturday 5, 12, and 19 and the virtual entertainment lights switch on will happen on December 5.
