The Police and Crime Commissioner has secured further £50,000 for organisations providing support to the most vulnerable during the continued pandemic in his Dyfed-Powys area.

In June 2020, Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn (pictured), reported that over £140,000 of additional government funding had been secured for organisations providing support for victims of domestic and sexual violence in the Dyfed-Powys area, to assist them with COVID-19 related costs.

This week, Mr Llywelyn has announced that his office has secured a further round of over £50,000 of government funding to help support these important services.

One of those that will benefit is the Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre who have faced unprecedented demand for its domestic abuse services due to lockdowns.

Mr Llywelyn said: “I am very pleased that we have once again been able to secure additional funding for our local services, to support them with the additional pressures they are experiencing during the ongoing pandemic.

“This is good news for the organisations involved, as this second round of additional funding will assist them in meeting the increased levels of demand they have experienced this year.

“It is essential that victims can continue to access the help they need throughout this pandemic and beyond.”

Other organisations that have received funding are:

Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre
