A mobile Covid-19 testing unit will be based at a new location in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain from tomorrow (Saturday).
The unit had been located at Llanidloes which experienced a sharp rise in cases through December, but from tomorrow the appointment-only testing unit will be based at the village’s FC Social Club. It will also provide a drive-through service.
Mobile testing units are part of the wider testing programme in Montgomeryshire alongside the main testing site in Newtown where you can walk, drive or cycle to for a test.
Powys Teaching Health Board said that the move is part of a rolling programme of mobile testing to ensure residents have access to Covid-19 testing as close to home as possible. Residents who are feeling symptoms but are unable to attend a mobile testing unit can request a Home Testing Kit, delivered to your home. The mobile testing facility will continue to move to other locations across the area.

"With a new variant of the virus that can spread more easily now circulating everywhere in Wales, it is more vital than ever that if you are feeling unwell, are showing any signs or symptoms of Coronavirus, you must first self-isolate immediately, and book a test as soon as possible,” said a spokesperson.
