‘Short notice’ vaccine appointments available

21/01/2021 @ 11:52

Powys has launched a ‘short notice’ vaccination list for those in a specific age category who can attend one of the vaccination centres.

Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) said that its three centres at Newtown, Builth Wells and Brecon have “good quantities” of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, and are encouraging those already contacted to take up their appointments if at all possible.

But PTHB has opened an opportunity for the 70-74 age range to potentially secure a quicker vaccine by plugging the gaps by people unable to attend.

“If you cannot attend a Mass Vaccination Centre appointment then please use this form to let us know,” PTHB have stated this morning. “This does mean that we can sometimes offer an appointment at short notice.”

Those who meet the four criteria below are invited to complete this form

“Please note that we may not be able to contact everyone who fills in this form, so please do go ahead with your routine invitation when you receive it,” the health board added.

  • Are you aged 70 to 74? or aged 80+? (people aged 75 to 79 are being contacted by their GP practice)
  • Are you registered with a GP in Powys?
  • Are you someone who does NOT already have a Covid-19 vaccination appointment (e.g. with your GP practice)?
  • Are you able to travel safely for a late notice appointment at a mass vaccination centre in Newtown, Builth Wells or Bronllys?
