150 police officers, staff tested positive since December
The figure was confirmed by our local force and shows the incredible pressure that one of our frontline services is under, and backs up police chiefs’ call to have their staff vaccinated as soon as possible.
A spokesperson told us: “Since the beginning of December, approximately 150 police officers and staff in Dyfed-Powys Police have received positive Covid19 tests.
“Frontline officers, staff and volunteers regularly engage with members of the public and all have worked extremely hard since the start of the pandemic to keep our communities safe.
“We understand the urgency around ensuring frontline officers and those in critical roles are vaccinated as soon as possible.
“Concerns have been raised nationally and work is underway to find a solution once those who are currently in the vulnerable groups have been vaccinated.”
