Staff's 5k-a-day for Macmillan

Staff working for a successful local company are going the extra mile quite literally this week for charity.

Team Invertek are preparing to get fit while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a 10-day 5k challenge, and they need your help to raise money.

Nineteen employees, including CEO Shaun Dean, are taking part in the Challenge which started yesterday.

Each member will complete 5k (3.1 miles) every day for 10 days by walking, running, cycling or even horse riding.

Team Invertek members will take part individually within Covid-19 regulations in England and Wales.

“Cancer is being referred to as the forgotten ‘C’ at the moment. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on people living with cancer and their families during this time and so we want to do our bit to help such a worthy cause,” said Bryony Wilson, a member of the company’s customer services team based at Welshpool who organised the event.
