Work finally confirmed for Cefn Bridge

After months of traffic lights on the notorious Cefn Bridge near Trewern, it appears that the problem that has caused chaos at times will be fixed in one night.

The lights were put in following a collision with the barrier last year, and far too often they have not been in working order, but the good news that the problem will be sorted was announced by the village's County Councillor last night.

“I’ve just been informed that the repair work to Cefn Bridge will be taking place overnight on March 24, starting at 10.15pm and finishing by 6.25am,” said Cllr Amanda Jenner.

“I am told this was the earliest date that suited Network Rail for both the line stoppage and the contractor doing the repair.”

Last month, the issue was raised on the floor of the Senedd by Montgomeryshire MS, Russell George who has called for a long term solution to the accident blackspot.
