26/02/2021 @ 01:17

With the number of positive Covid-19 cases still creeping up in Welshpool and surrounding areas, Powys Teaching Health Board has dispatched a mobile testing unit back to the town.

The lingering effects of the fourth wave that hit the town earlier this month has seen another 13 positive cases across the area over the past 24 hours, including three in Welshpool.

Earlier this week, Charlies confirmed that four cases had been detected there and Newtown has also seen a sharper increase compared to the previous week.

“A Local Testing Unit is now open seven days a week for drive-through appointments at Gungrog, Welshpool,” said a PTHB spokesperson.

A total of 255 cases have now been detected in Welshpool since the first back on March 11 last year.

“You can make an appointment by calling 01874 612228 or by emailing powys.testing@wales.nhs.uk."
