Beauty spot blighted

30/03/2021 @ 10:32

Anti-social behaviour is impacting a beauty spot on the edge of Montgomery.

Reports have been highlighted this week that the wildlife area at Whitegate Pool has received unwanted visitors, with heavy items moved, other items thrown into the water, and glass bottles smashed.

“This is of course dangerous to those residents who enjoy visiting the area, especially those with children and pets,” a spokesperson for the Montgomery Wales Facebook page stated.

“Cllr Lionel Weaver puts in hours of voluntary effort making this a haven for wildlife and for us all to enjoy, but has found it a challenge to keep on top of repairing damage and making the area safe recently, for personal reasons, and because of the repeated incidents of littering and throwing of items.”

If you spot any damage, report it immediately to the Town Clerk or one of the town councillors whose contact details can be found at https://www.montgomery-wales.co.uk/council/index.html

If you have information about those doing the damage, contact the police on 101.
