Caravans moved on from ‘closed’ car park

The caravans that had occupied Maesydre car park appear to have moved on this morning.

Only a small bundle of rubbish tidied into one pile (pictured) was left behind and there was no sign of the three caravans, nor the vehicles that were pulling them on EU plates.

The town council, who closed the car park to stop commuters parking for free during the lockdown, reported the issue to the police after a chain appeared damaged to gain access.

It is not known whether the car park will remain open to alleviate the chaotic scenes that were witnessed last week when parents were dropping off and picking their children up from football and rugby training.

The town clerk has responded to parents that their concerns would be shared at the next full council meeting.
