Powys County Council said that all of those people who checked in at the Smithfield Bell and came into contact with a positive Covid-19 case will be contacted by a member of their Test Trace Protect team, but they won't need to self-isolate unless they display symptoms.
The system faced criticism in the wake of the weekend case that saw the pub close down for a deep clean, and reopen yesterday.
Customers claimed not to have been contacted despite leaving their contact details when checking in.
But a spokesperson for Powys County Council told us last night: “Following a confirmed case of Covid-19 at the Smithfield Bell, preliminary enquiries were carried out as part of the Test Trace Protect yesterday (Tuesday).
“Following those preliminary enquiries, the Test Trace Protect Team are today (Wednesday) contacting all known customers who visited the premises on 17, 18 and 19 June to inform there was possibly an individual who had Covid-19 at the premises during their visit.
“Those being contacted are informed they do not need to self-isolate as they are not deemed a close contact but if they start to feel unwell or develop symptoms, they should go for a test and self-isolate whilst they await a test result.”
