Bid to stub out ‘fag’ problem

 

Complaints to the town council have increased over the warmer weeks as more people spend time in public places and discard their finished fag ends.

 

The council has acknowledged there is a problem and says chewing gum is also being spat out or stuck in public areas.

 

The council agreed at its latest full meeting to make the issue an immediate priority and will work with local partners and the media to raise awareness and to encourage residents to use bins.
