Trains cancelled this morning

Welshpool rail users’ frustrations have continued this morning with trains to and from Shrewsbury suddenly cancelled.

Early morning users reported that trains were being replaced by buses, and the official line is that emergency work is being carried out on a bridge “between Newtown and Shrewsbury”.

Buses are being used instead to ferry passengers between the two stations, but it is hoped that normal service will be returned after 11am today.
