An art display made up of litter collected in Welshpool and other local towns has gone on display at the Town Hall.
Local art group Celf-Able’s artwork ‘Oriel Sbwriel/Litter-Arty’ has gone on goes on display at Welshpool Market Hall, and will stay until January 6.
The project was funded by the Ashley Family Foundation via Community Foundation Wales and members joined local communities, supported by Powys County Council Waste Awareness team, Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust and Siawns Teg, to litter picks around Montgomeryshire to collect the items required for their work. Artists Terri Sweeney and Jo Munton were on hand to help shape the work.
The artwork aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and how we are all affected by the climate crisis, at both local and global levels.
The artwork will then spend a month in each of Llanfair Caereinion, Llanidloes, Machynlleth and Newtown, before finding a permanent home in Newtown.
