Christmas gathering for those alone

One of the area’s most striking landmarks is opening its doors to anyone feeling lonely this Christmas.

Garthmyl Hall is spreading some Christmas cheer by offering an open invitation to residents across the Welshpool area who may on their own to turn up, socialise, make friends and “enjoy some festive fun”.

“We are wanting to help this Christmas by reaching out to those who are alone and don't get to see people often or at all, we all know the last couple of years have been really hard on the elderly and vulnerable so we want to open our doors on Monday, (December 20) from 11am-2pm as a chance for those to chat, have a cup of tea and some cake,” a spokesperson told us.

“Hopefully they can create friends and it will give them a little lift this Christmas time.”
