Welshpool men urged to Walk and Talk

Men in the Welshpool area are being encouraged to ‘Walk and Talk’ on Thursday evening in a bid to improve mental health and tackle loneliness.

The Walking Men of Mid Wales was initially started in Newtown and welcomes dozens of men for a fortnightly social gathering there.

It has started in Welshpool with the latest fortnightly walk taking place tomorrow (Thursday) at 6pm from the Tourist Information Centre to enable those attending to enjoy a healthy walk and talk and be able to finish in time for the big Wales World Cup showdown.

“The Walking Men of Mid Wales is a non-judgmental group meeting for men of any ages who meet fortnightly to support men’s mental wellbeing,” said founder Andrew Coppin.

“The group meetings are always in a safe place to talk to one another in a friendly manner and environment to offer support during times of anxiety, stress, sadness, or even loneliness.

“If anyone knows of a gent struggling, please tell them about the group, they could be one decision away from a better life.”
